We started as a family workshop. We grew up in the field. Today we harvest in the Americas and Africa.

What began as the Lory family workshop in Oberá, Misiones, Argentina, is now a company that designs, builds and exports tea, yerba mate and tobacco harvesters to growers in five countries. We are still a family business: we know every machine and we stand by every customer all the way to their field.

A harvester has to understand the crop before it touches it. That’s why we combine the precision of Central European engineering with five decades of craft in tea, yerba mate and tobacco: exact machines with simple mechanics, built to last season after season.

Our story

Half a century of precision in every machine that leaves Oberá, Argentina.

Today more than 200 Lory harvesters are working in Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, the United States and Kenya. We design them, build them and support them in the field, with assembly, setup and training at every destination.

It all began in 1972, with the first hand-drawn tea harvesters and pruners that Julio Lory built in Oberá, Argentina. That gave rise to a conviction that still guides us: imported machinery doesn’t know our crops.

That’s why we combine the discipline of Central European engineering (exact measurement, minimal tolerance, durability) with technical knowledge of tea, yerba mate and tobacco.
